Cutting-Edge TMS Technology
for Effective Treatment
Magnetic eResonance Therapy (MeRT) is an advanced, non-invasive brain stimulation technique that uses highly individualized protocols to optimize brain function.
This approach has been effective in addressing conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), depression, and traumatic brain injury (TBI), offering a more personalized alternative to traditional therapies.
By analyzing a patient’s unique brainwave patterns through an EEG, MeRT targets areas of dysregulation with precisely tuned magnetic pulses to encourage neural connectivity and balance.
Developed as an evolution of repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), MeRT builds on decades of research into brainwave modulation.

The TV show “The Doctors” features MeRT as a Brain Treatment for Autism
As a recent feature on “The Doctors” TV show, Treatment with MeRT specifically for Autism was discussed at length. Neurologist Dr. Spencer O. Miller, who has been working with MeRT for Autism for several years with very good success was interviewed by The Doctors” TV show, along with a mother of a child with Autism who had treatment with MeRT and who shares her story.

Is MeRT/TMS Right for You
What conditions does MeRT treat?
MeRT (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy) has been used to support patients experiencing treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), autism spectrum disorder, and sleep disorders. It works by using your brain’s own unique EEG patterns to deliver personalized, targeted magnetic stimulation — making it different from standard TMS protocols that use a one-size-fits-all approach.
How do I know if I'm a candidate?
Candidacy is determined through a simple, non-invasive evaluation that includes a qEEG brain map and an EKG. These tests help our clinical team identify irregular brainwave patterns and assess whether MeRT or TMS may benefit you. Most patients with neurological or psychiatric conditions who haven’t found relief through traditional treatments are encouraged to explore this option. Certain medical implants (such as cochlear implants or metal in the skull) may affect eligibility.
Is the treatment painful or time-consuming?
MeRT and TMS sessions are non-invasive and typically well-tolerated. Most patients describe the sensation as a gentle tapping or clicking near the scalp. Each session lasts approximately 30–45 minutes, and treatment protocols are generally conducted 5 days a week over several weeks. Many patients read, relax, or listen to music during their sessions — no anesthesia or recovery time is needed.
What results can I expect, and how soon?
Results vary by individual and condition, but many patients begin noticing improvements in sleep quality, mood, focus, or energy within the first 2–3 weeks of treatment. Some patients experience more gradual changes that become apparent after completing a full protocol. Our clinical team monitors your progress throughout treatment and can adjust your protocol based on how your brain responds. A follow-up qEEG is typically performed mid-treatment to track changes objectively.
Before starting treatment, it’s important to understand if MeRT or TMS is the right fit for you. Certain conditions may affect eligibility, so we encourage you to review the information and guidelines listed here.

New Patient Process
At Novara Healthcare, your journey to renewal, healing, and progress is guided every step of the way. Here’s what you can expect:

Complete Your qEEG Brain Map & EKG
If you decide to move forward, you’ll come in for a painless diagnostic evaluation. We’ll perform a quantitative EEG (qEEG) to record your brain’s electrical activity and an EKG to capture your heart’s rhythm. These two data points are used together to build a completely personalized treatment protocol — one that’s as unique as your brain.
Begin Your Personalized Treatment Protocol
Once your protocol is designed, you’ll begin your treatment sessions — typically 5 days per week for several weeks. Each session is relaxed and comfortable. Our clinical team is present throughout, monitoring your response and adjusting as needed. A mid-treatment qEEG evaluation helps us measure progress and fine-tune your protocol for optimal results.
Follow-Up Evaluation & Ongoing Support
At the conclusion of your treatment, we’ll conduct a final evaluation to review your progress and discuss next steps. Many patients experience lasting improvements, while others benefit from periodic maintenance sessions. Our team remains a partner in your long-term wellness — providing guidance, resources, and support as you continue unlocking your potential.
